djflyer Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) Some recent posts in another thread inspired this question. It may have been asked before but I could not find it in searching. Have any kits of the 911 in 24th/25th scale had a complete water-cooled flat 6? (Used from the model 996/ 1998 to current). I know some kits have the bottom of the engine molded into the chassis, but I'm looking for the top of the engine. I know the "EM" based Fujimi kits have complete engines, but I believe all of those were air-cooled variants. Edited May 16, 2019 by djflyer
afx Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 As best as I can recall all the Fujimi EM kits are air cooled. Do any of the Italeri kits have a water cooled engine?
iamsuperdan Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 I don't believe I've seen a full engine in a 996. I've built the Tamiya 996 Carrera and it definitely wasn't full detail. I have a handful of others, and as they're variations of the same kit, I would say it's the same story. At the end of the day though, there's not much to see! And what you can see isn't attractive!
afx Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 (edited) The Tamiya 959 kit claims to have "complete engine detail", I don't have the kit to confirm it. The 959 engine is cooled by both water (cylinder heads) and air. Edited May 29, 2019 by afx

It also has no radiators up front. I should make a thread of my build, was done before I got active on this forum. Yea this is not the coolant parts.
