jjsipes Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 (edited) After watching the Mecum Indy 2019 Auction, I had a thought come back in my head and went digging for an old partial buildup. Threw it in the stripper and got to cutting. Not sure how well this will go but, here I go. Gonna be a long process due to time for modeling and having too many projects. Trendsetta68 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Me and my son were at the auction and the one that caught our eyes was the green Duster. The paint job on it was awesome ! Good luck on your project, great start !
gtx6970 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Same car has been on my to do list. So u have my attention

1972coronet Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Oddly ( or not ) MPC's 1972 Road Runner annual kit's customising parts are eerily similar to the 1971 RTS Road Runner ( BTW , what-ever happened to the custom parts from that 1972-only issue ? ) :

Hood and nose are different
Mr mopar Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Can wait to see this one done ....Jason you have a good start ! would have been cool if MPC would have done these kit back in the day
bigdrag1 Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 (edited) Very cool start to a great looking car, I got the Duster on the bench. Edited June 2, 2019 by bigdrag1

Trendsetta68 Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Here are a few shots of the Duster that I took at Indy's past Mecum this spring .....
1972coronet Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I've always loved the Duster ( either iteration ; both are 1970 models ) and the 1970 Road Runner RTS cars . For 1971 the only all-new RTS car was the redesigned 1971 Road Runner (albeit , 383-powered vs. the 1970 Hemi) . Have fun replicating that RTS Duster !
gtx6970 Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 The RTS Duster is going to be a paint nite mare to replicate

jjsipes Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) Started some nose work. I read where the nose was extended 6" so I added a 1/4" Edited June 3, 2019 by jjsipes
dragmodels44 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Those are going to be cool! Too bad you couldn’t resin copy the bodies when they’re done!
