If this needs to be moved to the Q&A section, that is completely fine. I just wasn't sure where to post this.

I would like to build a UP themed Mustang for my Grandfather. What colors would be closest to Union Pacific?I don't have an airbrush yet, so spray cans are kinda my only option...

Here is the engine that I'll be basing the build on.

See if the Hobby Lobby in Chambersburg (or Hagerstown) still has any Model Master Grabber Orange:

If they don't, wander over to their Krylon section and see if there's anything close there. Doesn't look like it would be too hard to match from common rattlecan lines; like Krylon or Rustoleum.

Also, did you know there's an excellent model railroad shop not too far from you? I'm always amazed how much stuff they have, out in the sticks:

Thanks much, Snake. I’ll check if they still have it after the weekend. If not, big rattle cans it is.

At Walmart this morning, I saw a Rustoleum rattlecan called Marigold that also seems to be in this ballpark. Might want to check it out.

There are multiple model railroad paint manufacturers that sell UP yellow (and UP gray) paints.   Scalecoat and Tru-Color paints are couple of most well known ones. If you have a local hobby shop which carries model RR supplies, they might have them in stock.

Scalecoat (actually Scalecoat II) is plastic safe enamel which dries to glossy finish.  Tru-Color is also plastic safe, but it dries to sami-gloss finish.  It is actually a type of ink, but it can be  considered a lacquer.

Here's the rub. Tyler doesn't have an airbrush and is looking for spray can paint matching, or close to, UP Yellow.

Edit:

Never mind. I just noticed you mentioned Scalecoat. Might as well order the spray paint directly from Minuteman Scale Models.
