Casey Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 I just deleted my PB account after being a member since 2004...that should speak volumes. I had a paid account on a grandfatherd plan for $30/year, but fotki is cheaper ($95/5 years, I think?), has the roll feature I like, and PB's service (images don't load, navigating inside albums is awful, etc.) is simply no longer something I wished to use. I'm very happy with fotki and would recommend it to others. It also didn't help that my PB account was inaccessible for over a month from December until about a week ago, either. Not going to miss it, honestly. I was great in the early days, but went down the toilet the last two years or so.
martinfan5 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I started using Fotki a year ago( I gotta renew this month I think) and its been pretty good, its not perfect, I wish the share options were under the pictures in the album like PB has/had it. I still have a few of my PB accounts but don't actually use them and need to finish pulling whatever is there I want to save and delete them.
Lunajammer Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Bill is right about getting what you pay for. For that reason I went to Fotki and am paying $40/yr. for my plan. I would have been all on board to do the same at PBucket, if that's what they requested. But it wasn't an option at the time. The option was $400 or beat it. So I went to the open arms of Fotki who smartly exploited PBs foolishness by sending out a welcome to all pissed off PB users. Though I still have existing pics on PB it's tiresome to hear now, a couple years later, that I'm suddenly over my limit, when I didn't have that many pics on there to begin with and $40 a month of slow loads, pop ups, failed links still isn't an option. That bridge has burned and they did me a favor.
Belugawrx Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I was always a free loader on Pbucket,.. and when that went down, I free loaded on imgur for a bit. It was painful to see all of my pics here, and on other sites, blurred with a huge watermark, and I didn't know if imgur was eventually going to try the same blackmail thing. So ya, it was time to buck up and pay the freight,..I just couldn't believe how cheap (75/yr) it was, after all the fiasco of a couple years ago.
Brutalform Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I lost many pictures on photobucket, but I had them all backed up on my PC, and also on an external hard drive, along with my music. Oh well...stuff happens. Being upset, at least in my eyes, is like winning the lottery, and complaining about paying the taxes.
