aurfalien Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 (edited) Hi, I've read some older posts here on the topic as it's been discussed a few times before. However I thought to bring it up to benefit some of the more recent board members like myself. Here is an article I just found which seemed to have nice results; https://tamiya.com/english/howto/bike1/tip4.htm The gist of it and previous articles are to use a mesh on top of a semi gloss black. Then lightly shoot whatever color like a metallic grey or gunmetal grey etc... on to the mesh. Once the mesh is removed you can follow up with a transparent orange, yellow etc... for further effect. The devil is in the details being; 1) Picking the right sized mesh. 2) Securing the mesh to the surface before spray. At any rate, HTH. Edited September 24, 2019 by aurfalien
Miatatom Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 That's pretty cool! Mighthave to try that.
89AKurt Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I did that for doing the seats on my MINI Cooper. It is a trick to conform the brass screen, and then spraying the exact amount of paint. I've considering doing the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento this way, which would take like a whole year. ?
