cobraman Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 There was a company that i remember offered this item. Does anyone know/remember who it was ? I can find 2 door but need a 4 door to build a replica of my first car. Thanks guys !
cobraman Posted October 24, 2019 Author Posted October 24, 2019 Found the info . At one time it was sold under Star Models/ R and R resin. Email came back and phone number didn’t seem to work so ......... gone ?
SfanGoch Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Most of those items are no longer available. This is the latest Star Models resin list. The updated contact info is in the upper right of the page. The one you're looking for isn't available. Contact rob Andrews at Resin Model Ranch and ask him if he has the mold (he bought R&R Resin's masters) for it.
cobraman Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Thank you much, I will give that a try. I don't think I could pull off converting a 2 door body .
ChrisBcritter Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Some Evergreen plastic for the window frames, a scribing tool and putty is most of what you need - the roof is the same for the hardtop and the four-door sedan on the '62 Galaxie.
gtx6970 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Wasn't missing link doing an early 60s Ford 4 door? or am I thinking of something / someone else ?
cobraman Posted October 26, 2019 Author Posted October 26, 2019 Well I heard back from my email and this one is NLA. I will have to consider converting the 2 door I guess.
cobraman Posted October 26, 2019 Author Posted October 26, 2019 Yes. Thank you. I did end up buying a 2 door sedan resin kit on the bay. I will have to decide if I want to try and make a 4 door out of it or be happy with a "close enough ". I will need a donor for a better more detailed chassis and an engine and firewall ect. Kit does have interior, grill, bumpers and windows. I may need tail lights also ? Been wanting to do this for a good many years.
1930fordpickup Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Ray didn't you say this was your first car before.
cobraman Posted October 26, 2019 Author Posted October 26, 2019 Yes, my very first car long ago. Bough it off my dad for 50 dollars. My friends and I had a great time with and in that car. 292 auto. My oldest buddy stills talk about that car.
vairnut Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Was my 1st car as well. 1962 Galaxie 500 4d, 352 and cruise o matic. dark blue metallic Oxford blue. I don't recall R&R ever having this actually available as I would have picked one up. Knew Ray very well and bought from him directly all the time as I lived in the area. Looks like I'll try a conversion as well - have a few 2dr hardtops, both R&R and Modelhause, and a couple restorable promos.
