Ford 427 Thunderbolt

Question for Them that Know. I'm about to build this engine. My web surfing seems to show it as black rather than Ford blue. Which is correct or does it matter?

The block in a "factory" Thunderbolt would be black.

I don't recall the exact year that Ford went with the black engine color. The main appearance difference in appearance on the big block Fords had to do with the valve cover and air filter colors.

Yup. The Ford Blue didn't come in until 1966.
