Go for it!  Definitely challenging if you're looking to build an accurate 1:1 replica.  I like this (and other Lindberg) kit as a starting point for one off customs.  No matter what you decide, its a kit you can have fun with.

I have one that I've taken out and put back several times.  I think like Ed, it's a great start for a custom.

I have never undertaken this kit, but I have seen some very impressive ones built using the body and some trim as a bases.

Crude 1955 multi piece body tooling.  That being said with time & effort you can make a nice looking model.

Could that be combined wiith a Revell for a reasonably nice replica?   Front off the the 48 and rest from the 41?
