This is out of my friend's collection.  Both rear wheels were broken off the axle.  I removed the body (easier than most Mint cars), removed the axle.  Drilled both parts and added rods to hold it together.  And fell in love with the look of the car.  This one will be staying with us for a while.  No hurry to sell it.  Lol

I have one of these in my collection, Randy...... and I agree that it is a very nice looking model. You have done an excellent job of repairing the rear axle and wheels, and I can understand why you don't want to part with it now. I managed to get my 1947 Bentley MK VI Franay Drophead for a very reasonable price on Ebay by outbidding several other collectors, but they can go for much more money....... silly prices, in fact. It is a very heavy car in 1:24 scale !

I too have this Bentley, purchased from an estate sale, but unfortunately mine is missing the bonnet ornament.  Does anyone know of a source of replacements?

Gramps, I have not seen any listing for a hood ornament on this one.   there are some out there on ebay for other cars and you might use on of them to have one on there.  There is probably a cottage market for replacement parts like hood ornaments, door handles, wipers, etc.

And David, I have seen these from $20 up to over $100 USD.   This one is missing a spotlight, but that's just not a big deal to me.   This is part of my friend's collection, so we may sell it or just buy it ourselves.  I do hate shipping cars like this that todd didn't have boxes for.   I remember us looking for this one for his collection.  there is an alternate version as well, made for Tinder Box.  Prices are definitely all over on this one.

I screwed the rear down as far as it would go, but wish the screws were shorter and it would go lower in the rear.

Gary..... most Bentley Franay's do not have the hood ornament missing, so you must have been unlucky! There are sometimes Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornaments for sale, for the Rolls-Royce cars, but I have not seen anyone selling Bentley hood ornaments..... they don't usually become dislodged.
