SfanGoch Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Don Imus, Legendary 'Imus in the Morning' Host, Dies at 79
Snake45 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Very sad. He gave me a LOT of laughs over the years.
Tom Geiger Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Yea, he was our morning laugh in the NY Radio market. everybody! I don’t care if it rains or freezes, long as I have my plastic Jesus mounted on the dashboard of my car...

iamsuperdan Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 As a Canadian, my only knowledge of Imus was through Howard's show. Although they sparred, I think there was a mutual respect there. Will be interesting to see what Howard says when he's back from his Christmas break.
NYLIBUD Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Oh man, that sucks. My father was a huge fan and listened to him in NY on 66 WNBC, back in the day, even before WFAN started.Imus in the morning drive, and Howard Stern on the drive home, when I use to go to work with my father. He was pretty nutty, like his brother, but very funny. My father is pretty upset, despite that he stopped listening to him awhile ago...RIP..Imus in the morning??

Will be interesting to see what Howard says when he's back from his Christmas break. Strangely enough, he was also close friends with Glenn Beck. Will also be interesting to hear what Beck has to say. One of the funniest things I've ever heard on the radio was a phone call between them about three years ago. I was listening on The Blaze direct feed and it included a couple moments I'm sure had to be censored for broadcast air.

I too am curious to hear what Howard is gonna say. I think this will might put him over the edge and this be his last year. He will not want retire like Imus with so little time to enjoy it.
SfanGoch Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 Howard's been saying that he'll be retiring at the end of his current contract for 35 years. He'll say the same thing in 2024, one year before his then current five year contract ends. Time to watch "Butt Bongo Fiesta" in 3D.
