I need to get back to it. A little shy on working on the door hinges. I've never used photoetched door hinges and a bit scared to do them... But I have three other rigs to put them on as well so I need the practice I guess!! LOL...

gotnitro? Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 I wish the fella was still doing business in the UK, he had perfect sized working hinges for rigs Premade glue on and go..some reason they discontinued them The etch ones are nice and work well once done. Mine took awhile to roll correctly and keep things moving

Mine took awhile to roll correctly and keep things moving Be nice for sure if they were still around. I watched a YouTube video on making them. It's a four part video session where he cut the tabs down and rolled them over a brass rod. The directions in the pack don't make mention of cutting the tabs down and to me they should be left at the length so the hinges can be bent to allow the hinge to fit outside of the truck door and cab like the real rigs do. Cutting them to me would allow the hinges to sit inside the cab more and not protrude out... I may just have to bite the bullet and try one. If I mess up no biggie as I have two more packs at home already. That and I can get more too, my local hobby shop has them in stock so.. Maybe tomorrow morning I'll try and see if I can mess them up or not...
gotnitro? Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Actually that's the issue I had , the tabs seemed to long to roll tightly together around the wire hinge . Guess I'll have to check out the video too
DrKerry Posted May 15, 2020 Author Posted May 15, 2020 Maybe that’s why they get cut then! I’ll watch the video again too just to make sure..
DrKerry Posted May 30, 2020 Author Posted May 30, 2020 Need to get back on this and do some more.. worked on the drive shafts again and finished them the other day..
AmericanMuscleFan Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 So this is where you hide Kerry! This Peterbuilt wrecker will have plenty of towing power, certainly way to much for your 34 Ford but as you know, there's never too much horsepower in play... You're a versatile builder sir... well done so far... I'm impressed!!!

If it’s not Kustoms, drag, salt, rigs, short track, bikes etc... I build ‘em all!! Thank you Francis!!
DrKerry Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 Thanks to Rick aka (pettyKW43) sent me a plethora of turbos and I was able to get the turbo and piping done on the Detroit... tube facing backwards on drivers side will be the inlet from the air cleaners...
