Got some work done on the 47, will be posting over there. 

And the 57 went into a 90proof rubbing alcohol bath.  Will grab a couple stiff brushes to give it a clean up tomorrow.  (I have a lid on the bath for it too.) I need to grab a glass container to dump into after I am done with the soak.

I hear ya. I cut my finger open with a razer saw shortening a gas tank this past week. Went through the fingernail, I heavily concidered supergluing the top together but a tight wrapped bandaid worked just fine.

Funny you should say that,  I nearly took the top off my index finger LH, last week. The older you get the more stupid you get, not referring to you mate, just me. That was last weeks accomplishment 🙄

More foil work,almost finished. I wish the front wheel trim was more pronounced, I have no clue how I managed not to slip. The back window was fun as well.

Yesterday I went to my first model show, so glad I could make it to the MIME 6NNL. While there a couple of my cars, the 67 corvette and 64 Thunderbolt got photographed for potential magazine entry. I also got 2 tokens from the gluebrothers club saying that my models were certified Cool. And lastly my 67 corvette got the "Best Junior" award.

Awesome and congrats! But, we are going to need more close ups of your Vette. That is slick!

I managed to finish the Mercedes Benz Sprinter van yesterday.

Started scrubbing off the old paint so I can reshoot it in a color the wife will like better.  I figure another day in the alcohol bath and should be pretty easy to finish them up. Then a nice Dawn bath, and air dry and reprep the parts for another go.

Is foiling just cutting out strips of tinfoil and gluing them onto where the moulded trim is on the model? Heard about that technique multiple times on the forum but never knew for sure what it was or how to do it.

No, it's bare metal foil (the brand name), a very thin aluminum with an adhesive. It's pretty much the standard for trim work. There's a real good tutorial on their site, as well as here on the forum. It takes practice, but looks absolutely awesome. Not difficult, tedious. You should give it a try.

Ah, ok so it’s an actual brand of modelling foil. I was thinking about doing something like that for my ‘60 Plymouth wagon; also heard chrome pens are also a go to. I’d like to do something different than the silver testors that I usually brush paint on. It’s not bad and I keep a steady hand but obviously it’s not chrome so it never really looks 100%. By the way your Chevelle is coming along nicely, looks great with the foiling technique.

Molotow looks good, but it doesn't like to be touched, it dulls easy. I use that for touch ups and interior.There's a few products like that. One I just ordered is fusionfirm chrome. Another poster here on the forum has been testing it,and it seems durable,and has a clear coat to protect it. I guess it is not available on Amazon for Canada, according to a 3rd poster here. Thanks for the compliment on the Chevelle, that's the "second attempt" at my first model I built as a kid. 👍👍

Let's hope this is the last bath for that one. She's gotta be pretty clean by now.
