stitchdup Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 This is one of the heller/humbrol bobcat series of kits so only has less than 30 parts and 8 of them are the tyres. I built this in 3 hours during the afternoon. I really put very little effort into it as its aimed more at kids than adults. I decided on this because it is such a simple kit, but still ended up doing a little extra detail. The wheels are from the old revell porsche 356 speedster as the wheels in this looked like they were for a small bus or truck. I also used the hubs from the revell as I didn't think vw hubcaps would have worked too well, lol. The only other detail is i added metal trumpets in place of the ugle chrome part and angled them towards the centre. I also wanted to use my c1 metal powder so the paint is mint green under c1 metaliser powder
Dann Tier Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Neat looking car!!....VERY interesting kolor!!...we all need simple kits every now and again!
stitchdup Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 Cheers guys, for a paint test it turned out ok but I think i need to do more testing with the c1 powder. It really should have been light blue metallic under it. This is one of those occasions when the pics are better than seeing it for real. Since this actually looks ok i might strip it in the future and do it right with a 959 chassis under it (my tamiya nas a crushed top),
Gramps46 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Don't see 906s built up very often. Wonder if there is any connection with the Lindberg 906, your description sounds like they could be the same? Thanks for sharing.

It could be mate, this is the only humbrol boxed bobcat kit i've seen, the others have all been heller. I have their 70s massey ferguson but i'd like to find the digger thing on the side of the box (if its 24 or 25 scale only)
Gramps46 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 The Heller-Humbrol Bobcat sounded familiar so I searched my box of kit box tops and the only Bobcat series I have is the Renault Race Team figures and pit tools. Wish I could find a list of kits from that series. I searched Google without success for a list.

I dont have that boxing but i got the recent heller release a couple of months ago. The box sides for the porsche show b102 mechanical digger, b103 ford cobra (coupe but it could just as easily be a ferarri from the pic, lol) b101 dumper truck and b105 sea king helicopter. The porsche is b104. The porsche is the only one I've ever seen though si i cant say for sure any of the others were ever actually produced
Gramps46 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Thank you for that info. If there was a Lindberg connection then the B103 Cobra Coupe could be the Lindberg Cobra Daytona.
