I'm looking for feedback on  Humbrol acrylic spray paints. How do they compare with  the Tamiya TS line? Thanks in advance!

I didn't see any replies to this.  I'm interested in this too.

I was wondering if you need to use their primer first with these ?   Or can you just spray the color on bare plastic ?

I have never used the Humbrol brand of spray paints so I couldn't give you a true comparison to Tamiya products. I have tried their brush paint for an interior years ago and just wasn't that impressed so I haven't bought any of their products since then. This may be true of others and the reason you haven't received any response.

Their brush-on paints in little metal tins are similar to Testors (little glass bottle) enamels, but I have also never used their spray paint.  Hopefully someone here has, and will be able to comment.

I haven't seen the spray cans anywhere, either locally (only one hobby shop in the area) or with any show vendors.

Their brush enamels are light years ahead of Testors, they cover very well and also flow out well leaving no brush marks provided you don't drag the brush through it once applied.  I haven't had any luck airbrushing them, but am well satisfied with them in brush applications.

Last time I'd used their aerosol paints was some 33 years ago ; that's when Monogram was partnered with Humbrol ( et al. ) , to the point of calling out their paints' names in their kits' instruction sheets .

While the paints were of very good quality , their price-point was... off . I don't know if that's because they're imported ; however , their spray paints were relatively-small .

They were great ; easy to work with .

I have to agree on the Humbrol brush enamels.  I recently tried some and was really happy with them.  They flow nicely, lay down beautifully and no brush marks.  And they actually DRY well (no soft or tacky feel).  I'll be getting more of them for sure.  Yes, I wish they had different packaging, but I'm not going to complain about that with how well they brush.

I Actually prefer those little tin cans over standard bottles.  It is much easier to wipe the lid and the rim of the can clean before re-closing the can than it is to wipe the seal inside of the bottle cap.  I'm really anal about keeping the seal area clean.
