FenderMender Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 This is an Action 1:24 scale diecast 2003 Monte Carlo NASCAR model of the #5 Terry Labonte Kellogg's Got Milk? car. It is quite heavy, very well made and with great graphics and superb detailing. Both hood and trunk open on realistic hinges and it has a photo-etched metal front grille. Even the new tires have the appropriate stickers displayed on them! Bought this at a consignment shop for just two bucks! However it was missing the back window. With some clear acetate, I fashioned a replacement. Thanks for looking...
Gramps46 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Oh yes, I really like this and it was a great find and save. Terry was one of my favorite drivers.
randyc Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Action was THE standard when this car was current. I have a few left from when I owned a hobby shop. The market for Nascar diecast has pretty much tanked since the early 00s. We were selling them like crazy back in the day. Nice car and great score for the price.
kilrathy10 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 What a find!! $2 is an amazing price for that car... I wouldn't care WHO's car was depicted... That's a $30 ebay resale, for sure...
THarrison351 Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Yeah, the NASCAR diecasts they sale today at $55+ is equivalent in detail and composition to what WalMart used to sale 10 years ago for $10-15. You have to step up to the Elite versions to get an opening trunk lid and a metal chassis. I wait until they're a couple of years old, the demand is gone and buy them for cheap.
