peteski Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 She was 94?! Wow, I remember a beautiful young lady, but that was long time ago. She lived a good life. Abut as far as The Avengers go, that series didn't really develop until the Emma Peel years.

Well, bear in mind that when The Avengers began, the Beatles were playing Hamburg strip clubs; Cathy Gale lasted from Please Please Me to Help; Emma Peel strutted her stuff in the era of Revolver and Sgt Pepper, and Tara King was only around for Abbey Road. The Avengers was always pop culture for its times, but boy did those times change in eight years... best, M.
peteski Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 It was before my time, but I agree that changes were happening quick. I'm not knocking the first seasons of The Avengers, but the video and audio quality was poor, and so was the dialog. Plus, the interaction between characters seemed forced - no chemistry. I much prefer Emma Peel years.

The same can be said for MANY shows of the day. I loved Man from UNCLE as a kid. As an adult, it's pretty stupid looking.

If you were to watch (now) any of the first Season episodes of The Avengers, and compared them to the ones featuring Emma Peel, you would easily notice the drastic change that I mentioned. My opinion is based on episodes I watched within last few months. They are all cheesy, but later seasons are much better "cheesy".
