Jon Cole Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Caption says it all. How to attach bucket seats in Testors late model Charger Daytona R/T? I know there is other kits like this. I think AMT had a current style Camaro with flexible seats. Edited April 16, 2020 by Jon Cole
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Just to keep them in place, one would assume the very minimal of adhesives would suffice. Nothing sticks very well to vinyl, but there are several non-solvent glues that should do the job, including white PVA, epoxy, Walthers Goo, or even hardware-store Duco or silicone. If the model is going to be handled, or played with and and upside down a lot, you might need a mechanical fastener. Edited April 16, 2020 by Ace-Garageguy
peteski Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) In my experience CA glue works exceedingly well on vinyl and rubber (and plastic of course). If those are vinyl, you might wash them in alcohol first (vinyl sometimes had an oily film on its surface, or leaches out plasticizer). I also love to use CA accelerator (BSI brand, I might add), which gives me a bond in the matter of seconds (if not sooner). Edited April 16, 2020 by peteski
curt raitz Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 I use Pacers Formula '560' Canopy Glue to attach a lot of parts. similar to Elmer's White glue, but a little stronger, Will hold your vinyl seats in place forever once it has dried. ?
