tbill Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 This is kind of geared towards rig builders, but could come in handy for cars as well. I build a lot of rigs, and for those that build them, you know that you get to a point where turning them around on the bench to work on one side or the other can get tricky. As I was working on my freight liner the other day I thought , boy, a lazy Susan would be nice right about now . Fast forward a few days, my wife had to go to Walmart for groceries and asked if I needed anything, so I put in a request to have her look for a cheap lazy Susan. What she found was a turntable for cake decorating. It has adjustable height, the legs fold inward to create a lower stance and a locking mechanism for the table so it can spin or not spin. Also has non slip pads on the legs. I think it’s going to come in handy, and for $20, I thought it was cheap enough. Just thought I’d pass along the idea if it hadn’t been mentioned before.
SCRWDRVR Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Very good idea, I think I will have to pick one of those up, I have several trucks and 1/16th cars waiting for me and that would be handy on them...
Bugatti Fan Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 The Lazy Susan cake decorating turntable has been around for years and as Tom has found it is a brilliant piece of domestic hardware that can be used for our type of work, and relatively inexpensive too.
