RancheroSteve Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Anybody here using an old Mattel Vac-u-form to make windshields, etc? Where are you getting your sheets from? I've run out of clear sheets and need to re-stock.
Snake45 Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 (edited) Vacformable clear plastic is all around you, once you learn to see it. You probably threw some away within the last couple days. Just cut anything suitable to 3 x 3.5" and you're good to go. Edited May 7, 2020 by Snake45

Funny, I did a eBay search and didn't find that. 30 mil seems a little thick though - another site was recommending .020" as the max one should use with a Vacuform. I think the stuff I've been using is only about .010".

I'm not above cutting something to size, although it would be nice to be able to get a quantity already pre-cut.
peteski Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 The "good" sheets out there have holes drilled around the perimeter like the original sheets had. At least back few years ago I was able to buy that type of sheets on eBay.
