It's kind of a shame that the last desirable AMT 1/25th Lincoln model was the '65 convertible.  All of the rest after that were the four-door sedan only.  Is anyone aware of a resin hardtop body and interior for these?  Thanks.

Mastering a '69 2 door has been on my to-do list, but it's about 30 projects from the top of the list.

Same here but mine won't be a "master" for casting. It'll just be a one-off for myself.

I'd sure like to see it when it's done!

working on a 66 coupe but it will probably not get casted

Paul,

What's the problem ... a perceived lack of demand?

Hi Jim, yes not thinking it would be a big seller. Would have to be a complete kit as I believe the wheelbase is longer than the 65 kit. Also, the promo body I started with is very very brittle. If you look at it wrong another area shatters. Have beefed it up considerably from the back side but still would probably break again during the mold making process.

Hi Paul,

I just looked at the SAE specifications and it indicates a 126" wheelbase for both '65 and '66.  Considering it took Lincoln until the '66 model year to offer the hardtop, which I never understood, it wouldn't have made sense for them to offer two different wheelbases due to the engineering and parts expense.  The major differences between the hardtop and sedan/convertible would be the roof, quarter panels, doors, and interior side panels.

The wheelbase changeover was in '64.

'61 to '63 were 123" wheelbase.

'64 to '69 were 126" wheelbase.

Who wants to bet AMT never made the wheelbase adjustment?

I'll take that bet.  ,,, All in ,,, whole stash. Every kit in the house.

I have a '61 built,

a '62 I need chrome for, it was built custom,

a '64 started,

a '65 built full custom

a '66 built

a '67 I need the front bumper/grille for

a '68 I could build now,

The earlier ones do indeed have a shorter wheelbase. the chassis plates don't interchange between the earlier and later kits.

143 4394

150 5050

118 1877

So, yea. I'd take that bet.

BTW, anyone have a front and reat bumper and grilles for a '62 and/or a front bumper for a '67?
