Olskoolrodder Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 This is a cool project, looking forward to seeing more! Cool on the old Honda XL (well...it wasn't old then, LOL!), I've owned a few XL's and XR's (and XR250L's/XR650L's, CRFL's and X's, and currently a daily ridden year round CB500X ), I'd love to have a clean one now too
Steamboat Posted October 12, 2023 Author Posted October 12, 2023 Got back to this one after 3 years. We had a spell of low humidity here in FL and I got a chance to get some painting done. The color is supposed to be Ontario Orange. I mixed Testor's orange and yellow enamels to make my own representation, followed y 2 coats of Model Master clear enamel. It's about ready for the vinyl top paint and then some polishing. 3
Steamboat Posted October 15, 2023 Author Posted October 15, 2023 I got the interior finished up and ready to go in. I used the rear seat from a second kit to make the front bench seat. The 1:1 car had a rubber floor covering - no carpeting - so I just painted the floor flat black. I drew up and 3d printed the headrests and speaker grilles. The dash has the generic gauge cluster, JC Whitney 3-gauge panel, and 8-track player just as the 1:1 car did. I removed the SS emblems from the steering wheel and it works pretty well for a base model wheel. 5

It would have been pretty plain without them, especially if it came with poverty caps. I wish I had the build sheet.
Steamboat Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 I'm calling this one done. I'll post more pictures in the Under Glass section. 3
