carsntrucks4you Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 (edited) I hope this one would be easier than last week. As usual sent PM with Year, Make and Type. Edited August 24, 2020 by carsntrucks4you
Pete J. Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 ? Easier?? Not so sure. I just happened to stumble across it when looking at a different website. Shear dumb luck!
dw1603 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I haven’t given up completely yet, but I’m getting nowhere with this one.
carsntrucks4you Posted August 27, 2020 Author Posted August 27, 2020 Let me give a hint. This car was mostly used by the government of the state were it was manufactured.
dw1603 Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 I give up, I can’t spend any more time on this one.
carsntrucks4you Posted August 29, 2020 Author Posted August 29, 2020 (edited) Here is the solution . It is a 1967 Itamaraty Executivo (Portuguese Sorry). Itamaraty was build by Willys do Brazil. The Executivo was a extended version of the Itamaraty which was the luxury version of the Aero 2600. It was mainly used by the brazilian goverment. In 1967 Willys do Brazil was sold to Ford do Brazil. The Areo and the Itamaraty were sold in 1968 under Ford brand The correct answer were sent in by Richard Bartrop Junkman Pete J. DonW Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Ugh. I had no idea and less interest. Not my kind of car. What was it powered by? I suspected the Ford connection because of the clumsy grille and the rectangular secondary lights that jar with the rest of the design. I did spend a lot of time looking for this gem but to no avail... Keep 'em coming, Mike!
dw1603 Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Well I ought to have found this one, I looked at Willys, I looked at Brazil and now you have revealed it, I’m even aware of Itamaraty. Total failure on my part. Oh well, roll on 490!
Pete J. Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 I have to say, were it not for an incredible coincident I would not have found this one. Haggerty Insurance has a great online news letter and Willys Aero was one of the topics in their latest edition. Well one thing lead to another and bingo, there it was. Not a particularly great amount of skill on my part.

Richard Bartrop Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 I started off in Autosoviet checking out the Russian limousines too, then those headlights tweaked a memory.
