Kit Basher Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I'm working on the recent release of the Revell '69 Mustang. The interior has mounting points for a roll bar, and the roll bar is on the parts tree. It looks like there would be more parts for the roll bar that are not in the kit. Since I am building the car stock, I have already removed the roll bar mounts and am in the process of filling in the holes. I'm guessing the roll bar is left over from some earlier version of the kit. There is also an extra engine block and trans., but no heads etc. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the story is?
Luc Janssens Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) This kit is a modified reissue, so despite the rework, the design of the tooling will leave some parts on the shot which aren't used for this version, you can discard them or put them in your parts box. Rodent Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 The rollbar is leftover from the Shelby versions.
Dave Van Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Correct...Shelby version....and the real car did not have any down tubes...so what's in the kit is correct.....for a Shelby.
Kit Basher Posted September 10, 2020 Author Posted September 10, 2020 Aha! A Shelby. That makes sense. Thanks, guys! All traces of that roll bar are now gone from my model.
