hedotwo Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I have a set of 4 of these wheel covers that were on a glue bomb '61 smp chevy and I'm pretty sure they don't belong, stock or custom. I should know what emblem that is in the center of the cover but I just can't place it. Anyone? Thanks!
hedotwo Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 Olds? I know we all like trivia mysteries ? Rich
Can-Con Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) The emblem in the center looks like a Ranchero emblem but I don't remember any Ranchero kits with a hubcap like that. Maverick maybe??? Edited September 27, 2020 by Can-Con
Bucky Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Looks similar to this one: Website says this is a 14 inch Lincoln cover from the 60's or 70's. Emblem looks a little different from the one in this thread, though.
hedotwo Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 The Lincoln caps do look close. Maybe an SMP casting liberty with the center emblem?
espo Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 The emblem in the center of the hub cap is the key. I think it is the original kits hub caps. The odd thing about the emblem is the cars I remember seeing them on were Corvairs.
jokar124 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) They are definitely Oldsmobile hubcaps based on center emblem, from around 1964, but not sure which kit, maybe this Cutlass? Edited September 27, 2020 by jokar124
hedotwo Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 I think we may have a winner.... Mark chose the '64 Cutlass and it sure looks good. Thanks!
Bucky Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 1964 Olds cover: Looks exactly like the one I posted above. Appears my first one was mis-identified by the website.
