Long story short I used to build quite a lot then took about a 10 year break with small spurts of building in between. Recently I've gotten back into the hobby full force and am steadily finding my way to some of the online forums for inspiration and to share as I don't frequent social media any more. I mostly build hot rods and muscle cars form the '20's to the '70's with a little bit of other stuff thrown in. Don't typically build box stock unless it's a drag car replica or something similar. I have a solid background in 1:1 car building and customizing both as a hobby and professionally. There is a strong community of hot rodders here, myself included, and a lot of us build and drive the real thing as well so you are in good company!
