66 suburban

I found a Chevy 4x4 conversion with leaf springs, differentials, and transfer case at B-N-L Resin. Has anybody tried this?

Not sure how easily it would be adapted to the frame. I took the suspension from a Revell Plow truck and adapted it to a '60 Chevy AMT frame and had to add some Evergreen structural pieces to mount it up.

Speaking of the 66 Suburban, does anyone make a 4x4 conversion for it?

Rich,

Not sure what that 4x4 stuff from B-N-L will cost you, but here's what the Suburban body looks like sitting on the Deserter frame. Those Deserters can be had at HL for less than $20 with the 40% off. All kinds of tires and wheels can be used, the ones on this one came from Scenes Unlimited.

Yeah, I've already used a Deserter frame to convert a 60 Chevy pickup, and it worked great, so that's probably the way I'll go. The price would be about the same between the two options, but I'll save the shipping costs with the kit. Now I'll just have another GMC pickup body in the scrapyard.
