junkyardjeff Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 My next new build will be the 40 standard coupe but I do not want to build it stock,I think the convertible version is more of a hotrod so can parts be interchange between those two kits. Then maybe a stock convertible could be built.
RichCostello Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Yes, the parts will interchange, I've done it.
junkyardjeff Posted November 1, 2020 Author Posted November 1, 2020 I have located a convertible and will get it.

Dennis Lacy Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 The ‘40 Coupe has been issued a couple of times as a stand alone hot rod kit using the identical wheels, chassis and engine pieces as the Convertible. Also, the Convertible has been issued as a factory stock version a couple of times.
DrKerry Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Revell chassis fits under the old AMT bodies as well. A little trimming is necessary but the do fit!!!

thatz4u Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Can use an AMT grille & hood to build a Deluxe also
junkyardjeff Posted November 5, 2020 Author Posted November 5, 2020 It was on the porch when I got home from work,as son as I finish the 57 Ford wagon I will start on it. Going to be built as a 50s hotrod.
RancheroSteve Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 These are really nice kits - well-engineered and detailed. I'm using the chassis and running gear for the '36 Ford that I'm building.
