Yes IMHO, the silver candy base is durable, no issues.  When you spray it on it will look dull, but will get a shine as it dries.  No need for extra top coat.  It's not quite as shiny as the Alclad chrome but I like it a lot.

Have you tried clearing it? Also, do you have any pictures of anything you've painted with this for reference?

Thanks for the photo.  Silver Candy base makes a great polished aluminum finish, but not quite "chrome" to me.  At least I know how it looks like and compares to chrome.
