Captain Spaulding Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Decided to build something simple for my next project, decided on MPC's 1978 Dodge D100 pickup. Found a 440 in my parts box I'm thinking of using instead of the kit supplied engine but will see once I have the frame finished just how the 440 fits. Got the wheels and most of the frame painted this morning.
Captain Spaulding Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 Got the wheels on and chassis finished today. this 440 might be too long not sure yet. Might be one of those don't look underneath builds.
Mopar - D Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Looking good Jason. What color are you going with?

Captain Spaulding Posted November 17, 2020 Author Posted November 17, 2020 Got some paint on the truck last night, liking the color so far and it layed down nicely on the body. I've been having issues with testors spray paint lately coming out like water. Debating on what color to go with the interior, thinking tan or black would go good.
Captain Spaulding Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 Doing some test fitting today and looks like the 440 will fit in there rather nicely just have to remove some of the drive shaft.
wrenchr Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Looking good Jason, I need to pick another one of these up.

Captain Spaulding Posted November 21, 2020 Author Posted November 21, 2020 Got the interior finished and after some messing around got the 440 glued in. Just have to do the chrome on the cab of the truck then put everything together.
Mopar - D Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Looking good Jason. You’re going to have this one in under glass in no time now.

Captain Spaulding Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 Got the chrome and wiring painted today, always a fun thing to do as you get older and your hands get shakier and find yourself squinting to see what your painting as I'm sure many here can agree with.
Mopar - D Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Jason looks like you’re ready to do the final assemble its going to look good.
Captain Spaulding Posted November 24, 2020 Author Posted November 24, 2020 The kit is finished and has been posted in the under glass section. Thanks everyone who took the time to look or comment.
Modlbldr Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Looks good and a great color choice for it. I'll have to check it out Under Glass. I've been wanting a couple of these kits. Later-
