Removing/"winding down" front windows

Recommended Posts

I have an Italeri 1:24 kit with a one piece glass insert and wish to remove the driver & passenger windows. The A and B pillars on the car are wide and potentially forgiving in terms of hiding cut edges, although I plan on being surgical! I suspect it will be easiest to divide the section with the rear three windows, cutting straight across the B pillar line, then cut the windows from the windscreen and glue that into the body separately. Advice welcome here, but my real query is about cutting tools/technique: I'm thinking razor/detail saw, although my basic Tamiya one seems pretty crude/coarse toothed so some shopping seems in order! Recommendations/advice please ?

I always use a Dremel with a cut off wheel to get it close. Then finish with an Xacto blade, files and sandpaper. The reason I use a Dremel is it will cut without binding. I tried a razor saw once and it didn't work well for me. I'm much more comfortable using a Dremel to cut glass.
