JaysCustoms Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hello everyone!! As the title says, I'm back at it again. It's been years since I've done anything with model cars, probably since the late 90s, but that was how I passed the time, building custom model cars and trucks. The Marine Corps, work and family life kept me out of it all this time, but my son recently bought me a 61 Impala for my birthday and now I'm back in it. Since, I've also bought a 55 Chevy Cameo that I'm gonna build to display pulling my 61 Impala on a custom trailer. Things have changed so much since back then with the introduction of 3D printing, WOW! Looking online, some of these model cars have come a long way and look amazing, really life-like. I've already bought 2 different versions of an LS engine to swap into both of these and numerous other parts like wheels and accessories. I've barely started with both of these and haven't done much since I'm still waiting on parts to come in. For the 55, I'm either gonna build a custom frame or buy one online and modify it to fit, not sure yet or I'll just c-notch the one that came with it. Here's my plans: 61 Impala: Color: Candy Tangerine over a gold flake with graphics, Engine: LS3 w/Edelbrock xram swap, Wheels: Gold wire wheels w/whitewalls, also plan to do mild custom interior and a hydraulic stance, face down @zz up. 55 Chevy Cameo: Color: Pearl white w/Pearl Red accents, Engine: LSX w/Fast Intake swap, Wheels: 22" Smoothies w/whitewalls, Stance: Bagged with A-arm swap up front and c-notch in rear with custom 4-link, Bed: got a real wood kit online to do a raised floor, Interior: mild custom with metal bomber seats also bought online Trailer: will either custom build one with air bags to sit on the ground or I'll modify one that's already built, I'm still not there yet.
