kruleworld Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 anyone have a suggestion what this color might be? it doesn't have to be exact, but my mix is nowhere near it I'd like to repaint mine at some stage and would like a closer match. french_conn1 by aus_mus, on Flickr
Snake45 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 If it's a factory color, probably Canyon Copper, possibly Castillian Bronze.
Oldcarfan27 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Looks close enough to me. But your build must've taken place before filming - there's no damage on it yet! I like how you did the 4 doors.
espo Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I haven't seen the movie in years but recall the color looking sort of a dark Maroon with a hint of metallic. You might check Testors one coat Lacquer # 1838M Mythical Maroon. Two Tamiya colors that would be close but no metallic would be their primer Oxide Red that is a flat finish but easily covered with clear. The other would be their TS-33 Dull Red again no metallic.
CaddyDaddy Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I’d take the Frenchman’s Mark if given the choice!
Rockford Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I'd Google the year for Pontiac paint colours, you can actually bring up the colour chips from the original PPG catalogues. It's a factory colour by the looks of it. I do know through trying to guage the colour of the Kenworth from Movin' On that vehicles on film and TV can look drastically different from scene to scene due to lighting etc... You might already be spot on!
