Can someone familiar with iPad please help me learn how to upload a video (such as on YouTube), or post a link on this forum? Thanks!

If you want to share a YouTube video here and embed it in the body of your post, click the "Share" (just to the right of the thumbs down) underneath the video window:

After you click the Share, you'll see this:

Copy the link (and click the "Start at..." if you want the embedded video to start at a particular time), then paste it here, in the body of your post, like so:

Thank you Casey ... I was at least able to figure out how to attach a link of the video to my post, but getting the actual video to show up like yours did is still alluding me. I hit ‘share’ then it pops up the screen that says ‘copy’. When I hit ‘copy’, the load bar at the top does its thing and then that’s it ... I cannot see that anything actually happened, and if I go to this site and start a topic or edit, there is nothing to be found of the video.

Oh well, figuring out how to do the link is good enough anyway. I’m glad I finally got that.?

Hmm, does the "Share" link on the YouTube page copy when you use Command C? Assuming that is copy for an i-device  like it was was on my old iMac laptop. Not sure if that will save it to your clipboard or not. I am on a PC, so maybe the automatic copying of the Share link from YouTube is not automatic on an iPad.

Are you pasting in the link to your post?

No, I just write down the https://, hit the ‘link’ symbol when I’m in editing, then retype it into the editing and save it, and it places it into the topic I’m posting. I’ve only done it once so far.

I don’t know, I’ll give it a try the next time I want to post a vid. Actually there isn’t even a command button on this...lol I’m a pretty computer illiterate person actually ... messing around on this site has taught me most of what I know?

Can you highlight the Share link by holding your finger down, then dragging it back over the link?

I did just try that ... doesn’t seem to do anything.

Ah, that is where you go wrong.  Don't hit the "link" symbol then type in the URL (http://...).  The URL (the http://. . .)  info needs to go directly into the text editing window to show up as a video.  But I don't know if it will work correctly if you type it in manually one-letter-at-a-time (instead of copy/pasting the entire URL as a single chunk of text).

I clicked the Share button on the Youtube video I wanted to post, then clicked copy (you will get a quick message saying it was copied to clipboard), then I went to my post and right clicked in the text box and pasted the link. Popped right up like above.

I'm not very familiar with the way tablets work, so can you explain how does one "rigth click" on an iPad?  There is no mouse with left/right buttons - just a touch screen.

Holding your finger down for 2 to 3 seconds seems to be the equivalent to a mouse right click. When I go to a YouTube video, before pressing the play arrow, I ‘hold’ on the image of the video until the ‘save’ window pops up, then I touch ‘save’, which brings up another window with the ‘copy’ option in it, so I touch the ‘copy’ icon. I go back to the forum post I’m in and ‘hold’ wherever the cursor is until the ‘paste’ button pops up and when I touch ‘paste’, the video appears in the post wherever the cursor is set.

It basically works as explained above, but no message appears... you simply see the blue load bar load, and then you go back to your topic on the forum.
