I'm building the amt 1950 Chevy pickup.  This is my first build in many, many years so I don't have a collection of parts available.  Anyone ever scratch build a power brake booster?

Never done one of those before, and never saw one anyone has ever made.

My understanding is that the booster for the '50 was under the flooboard.

If so, they just look like it could be duplicated using a couple of pieces of styrene tube or rod glued together. Styrene would be best so you can round the edges.

Add a thin round piece of styrene on the end and you're mostly there.

Thanks.  I'm building it as a restomod to look like my 1949 full size pickup.

Cool, even the Wilwood firewall mounted boosters have that same look.

If you are building a replica of your 1:1 truck, you've got the ultimate reference material at your fingertips.  Take measurements of the 1:1 part, and break it down into simple shapes.  You might have a spare part that could be reshaped to look like the booster, and a piece of square or  rectangular strip styrene might work for the master cylinder itself.
