Dave B Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Hi Andrew, I haven't followed this thread for a while and given I love Maserati's I'm not sure why. I love that most of your construction is in styrene and this should inspire me to try harder on some of my future resin kits. Tks Dave
absmiami Posted September 2 Author Posted September 2 Gracias both DB and NOBLNG - styrene gets a break whilst i turn some more parts for the Maser and the Lotus - 2

absmiami Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 Changes to the engine mounts are needed so that the engine sits level in the eng bay - ive raised the mount points - using two washers on one mount - now the block is level and the cyl head sits just below the line of the hood - now i gotta make the eng bay bulkheads … 3

MarkJ Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Who knew a six banger could look so good? You have your work cut out for you, Andrew.

absmiami Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 Chucked some white delrin into the sherline lathe to make the over-flow bottles - delrin is dense enough to machine - but it doesn’t like paint - so its use is limited - but the white stuff is a little translucent - so its good for the bottles … 1
absmiami Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 The bottles are strapped to the panels - left and right - the securing straps were made by flattening .08 alu tube - i use aluminum rather than nickel or brass strip because it is easier to drill the bolt holes … 1
absmiami Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 (edited) Clips run along the top edge of the panels - these hold wire bundles- i think for the headlights - they are bolted to the panels - so i flatten .06 alu tube- this is easy to do - just mash them in the flats of your favorite needle nose pliers - then i cobble together a jig to hold the flat section of alu - and bend and shape the clip - then each clip is drilled w a .014 hole for Master Club’s smallest 3D Printed bolt - which is .5 mill. - if you are playing along at home - try to make 2 good clips for every bad one - and try not to lose more than 1 out of every three or four bolts - - if you make 3 good clips in a row - stop and fix yourself a drink … Edited October 25 by absmiami 1
