I PM'd you Buddy but here again for anyone else to consider. I brush a coat of Future (yep I still have plenty of the old stuff) over the foil to seal it. It doesn't effect the shine or the clear over the base paint. It works.

Thanks for the info on the foil Mike.  I think next time ill try masking it off and paint it.

I just used the decals that came with the kit.  They are a pain but I got it done.
