monkeyclaw Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Chris; The chopper kits have "pins" on both sides to mount he wheels; I will use these during mock up ; but will replace with rods for final assembly, for a sturdier mount....I hope this helps............matt
carsntrucks4you Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Here a picture of rims that I made for my chopper.
monkeyclaw Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Michael; very nice work on the rims....nothing looks more like metal ...than REAL metal! Way to go! Those will look great on a bike... matt
monkeyclaw Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hey Guys; just wanted to share progress on my chopper....I am trying something a bit different...mastering the tank and seat in clay; it's much easier to work than bondo; and should translate all of the compound curves quite well, and save a bit of time....have a look.......matt
ismaelg Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hello, I just finished my Atomic orange chopper. There are more pictures and details of the build in the "UNDER GLASS" section. Also, even more pictures and details here: http://www.puertoriconet.com/images/chopper Thanks,
BIGTRUCK Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I will one day build another Revell chopper , this was one fun kit..
miatamadman Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Once again I started off with the Crusader chopper and after lots of cutting and fabrication, I came up with this. Paint is Testors Plum Crazy and the graphics are from 2 crusader kits that I spliced together. The seat is real leather that I dyed with a sharpie. Other cool features are the rear fender "fangs" and the air intake scoop.
bjscustommodels Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 looks great everyone one, this is where i am with mine Crusader w/shaker trike front forks
Gregg Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 Once again I started off with the Crusader chopper and after lots of cutting and fabrication, I came up with this. Paint is Testors Plum Crazy and the graphics are from 2 crusader kits that I spliced together. The seat is real leather that I dyed with a sharpie. Other cool features are the rear fender "fangs" and the air intake scoop. Sorry for the French, but this is the Sh%&@#% I love to see!!!!!! Sorry, blame it on the early times
miatamadman Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Thanks for the compliment Greg  . These bike kits are so awesome and fun to build. I've got a few more in the works, so stay tuned.....
Matt T. Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Gregg & Jairus, You want me to put together a Fotki album of the builds this weekend (after midnight 2/3)? So we'll have a gallery for the build-off participants? Have fun at NNL!
Matt T. Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Six months, 22 builders, 33 bikes. We present the "MCM Biker Build-Off" album. http://public.fotki.com/crstan/revell-chop...l-cars-magazin/
bjscustommodels Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 So if i get this correctly, when ever a bike is done it goes in the folder.
Matt T. Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Ben, Jairus & Gregg proposed a "build-off" with a deadline of NNL West (2/3). Since the chopper kits only came out last summer, I included any chopper build that was posted in any of the forums since then. Nothing too official here. I saw your Aces Wild post from August, but the three images were broken, at least on my PC. Please repost so we can add them to the album.
bjscustommodels Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007  my kids got a hold of it and smashed it. No way of a rebuild.. Oh well
bob paeth Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I'm not sure whether I should post a vote on the bikes that have been posted but I'm gonna anyway. My first choice, hands down, is the purple jobbie submitted by Zoli. This has to be one of the best bikes to ever "roll down the turnpike" Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! Runner -up has to be the sbmission by Lyle Willlits for his "Sun Chaser". A special mention should be made of the entry of Rick Forrester. The bike is nothing short of fabulous and probably would win in any other contest. He should be complimented on his presentation. The background of the photo just grabbed my attention. Bob
Matt T. Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Bob, you're a braver man than I! There are so many nice bikes in that album, I was thinking when I was loading them up, "We are lucky we're not voting." I'll throw some obscure category winners out there though (purely my own opinion, your's will certainly differ). Most Brutish-Looking: Fuelish Spectator (I really like the "attitude" vibe this one puts off) Truest to Tradition: Lyle Willits' "Blue By U" (whitewalls, baby!) Coolest in its Minimalism: Craig Stansfield's "Simplicity" (dig those dual headlights too!)
Moparlady Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Wow, I've enjoyed looking at everybody's choppers. There's some fantastic workmanship here, with lots of creativity. I've built one so far, and they're lots of fun. Definitely will build more. This first one is built out of the box from the Aces Wild kit. I sanded off the Ace of Spade emblem on the seat and applied my own iron cross decal. This is my first time posting so hope these pics load ok.
Moparlady Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Hi Ken, The paint is Alclad Lacquer Prismatic Maple by airbrush. It's one of their flip-flop paints. Sprayed over a gloss black base.
Guest zebm1 Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Who'd a thunk it, certainly not me. Prismatic Maple....Iz what this room needs.....a woman's touch. Very, very nice Shannon....luv tha color! Zeb
