I always like to have 2 builds going on at one time so paint or clear on one can cure fully. This one was a partial builder I had for years so after I checked all the parts , its time to build Cooter's Tow Truck. The only thing I may alter is the toy like boom, I'm going to use it,  just opening the flat surfaces so it don't look so bulky. The crank I'm not sure about it.

All the body work done and have the bed area joints sanded. The one thing missing was the rear cradle items, so I had to modify a tow bar to fit. The bulk of the work is cutting away some of the boom so  it don't look so bulky. I have the grille guard from the MPC '68 tow truck I will use also.

Got all 3 colors on but now I'm not sure on this kit boom. I would Ike to stay true to the kit, but a pipe style boom would look better,I even gathered up the plastic to start on one, and yet I could modify the kit boom keeping the shape but get rid of bulk and add some pipe and rigging. I have the interior to do while changing my mind 5 more times on the boom.?

 Nice paint and progress..

Thank you Carl. I thinned out the boom and added supports. I can live with the look the way it sits but need to make a winch and make some cable from waxed thread. Every time I stop at the local hobbyshop I picked up a pack of some shape of Evergreen plastic and tossed in in a tub, I'm glad I did . I do use my share .?

Not a lot of work left except doing the details like black and chrome foil, some under the hood painting and then assembly. On the box it shows light weathering on the lower cab which I will do after the Cooter's decals are on. The kit come with side pipes but not sure on putting them on. Still have a small amount of  boom lift work and put some control levers in the back.
