I think this time the car lead in a direction were some of you thought it is a Mercury Montclair but it isn't.  It is a 1956 Monarch Richelieu Convertible. Some source  like conceptcras.com say it is a Mercury Monarch which is wrong. Monarch was a subsidary of Ford for the canadian market first established in 1946. The marque was dropped from the market in 1958. Monarch's were Mercury's with a different side trim and modified grill. They were  sold through Mercury dealers in Canada.

A little correction on on Monarch history. While they did skip 1958 with the idea that the Edsel would replace it. Monarch production resumed in 1959, and continued until 1961
