MrMiles Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 Started this a long time ago and only recently started on it again. the paint is tamiya airplane/ship paint green/grey. I believe it is as-28 The interior is 2 tone with dark and light gray to match how the real car was. I still need to chrome the body and put it all together. I got bmf, but i might just use molotow chrome pen. 1
TransAmMike Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 The Olds is looking great Miles, beautiful smooth paint and right on interior. Looking forward to it's completion.?
MrMiles Posted July 7, 2021 Author Posted July 7, 2021 (edited) Thanks guys. I chromed the body using molotow pen. Before and after. No matter mow much i tuck the tape, there are always a couple of spots that the chrome gets under. Thankfully I found if you wait for it to dry and rub a cotton swab on it you can get it away with out any real damage to the clearcoat. one day i will learn to be more careful with the pen so i wont need to tape the whole car, and i didnt have patience for the bmf this time Edited July 7, 2021 by MrMiles
Zippi Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 Your 50 Oldsmobile is looking great. I love big fender cars and trucks. Nice work Miles.
bisc63 Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 Looks very authentic for its time period. Well done so far!
MrMiles Posted July 8, 2021 Author Posted July 8, 2021 I think im going to call this one finished. I really like the build except the glass pieces and the mounting of the rims and tires
