3D printed '73 Boat-tail Buick Riviera "kit" available on eBay from a well-known seller

It costs $90.  Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/255081937220

It is by Olex Dimitr, the same guy who produces those nice 3D printed wheels and engines.  It is a strange kit because it includes a frame, but not full floor. Interior and glass are included. Not sure what kit could be used for a donor. I'm also not sure how smooth the surface finish is on all those parts. I suspect some love would be required to make the body ready for painting.  I'm also wondering how accurate the body shape is.

I"m not quite ready to jump in on it (although I would love to build a model of this car). Hopefully someone here will buy one, build it and post a nice thread about it.

I got the Cherokee he has up, it's not as nice as the wheels he does. The body is still pretty rough and the detail is a bit soft and will probably get buried under the amount of primer it's going to take to smooth it out.

The floor is there but it looks a little short and that the rear firewall will push the back seat forward until it is touching the front seat.

The interior sail panel trim appears short-shot on the far side and Straight Axle in the front!

I don't recall ever seeing Dana-type rear axle covers on a Riviera. Weird how the springs are wound in opposing directions ?

I used to own a '72.

That's way off in several areas.

No really good resin ones have been made in our scale yet, and that includes the one Modelhaus did.

Oh well . . .

There was someone on this forum who was in the process of making a master for casting resin bodies, but I have not seen any updates of that thread for probably few years now.

That looks a lot better than most. A but slab sided but the roofline is right on this one and that's a first.

Windshield shape's wrong but you could adapt the section from a '76 Caprice, they use the same windshield in 1/1.

Only other thing I'd bother correcting is the kick-up on the rear 1/4 window. It should be concentric with the wheel opening.

I think I'll actually put a bid on that and see if I can bash it with the resin '71 I have to come up with a more accurate '71.
