Irvin Arter Jr. Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I traded MJ for this truck. It has a shortened bed and was two tone painted when I got it so I am going for the "Daily driver" look. I added a blue sharpie pin stripe on both sides. I Alcladded the front and rear bumpers and grill. Used Revell's 32 Ford wheels with a gray wash. I still have to install the engine. I am using the stock block but, the heads and all other stuff is from the Revell 32 Ford. more photos at the link below http://public.fotki.com/IrvinArterJr/irvin...0_ford_pick_up/ ENJOY!
Mj-Styro Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 That looks cooooooooooooool! Gotta see how you do your alclad............mine doesnt come out that shiny!!! and i have tried everything!
Irvin Arter Jr. Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 thanks guys! I buffed the Alclad with a Q-tip it made it a little more shiny before I added the black wash
Andy Wyatt Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Very cool! How did you do the Sharpie trick? I could see a real mess if I had tried that!
Irvin Arter Jr. Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 I used a fine tipped one and i taped a straight edge to the side of the body. Who ever painted the truck had his edge a little crooked on the front but, it looks OK from 5 feet or so!
Casey429 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Nice Ride! I rather see something like this in Hot Rod magazine that those $150,000 showpieces (not that they're bad, daily drivers are just cooler).
walt francis Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006  That's going to kick start some pickup projects.
MikeBoyle Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Awesome! One of the cleanest '60's I've seen in a while. Reminds me I need to get this one finished.
Ayatollah Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Is that the Modelhaus one or the old annual? I have both and they do look like different lengths. It looks great, though! Popular bodystyle lately! http://cgi.ebay.com/1960-Ford-F100-pick-up...1QQcmdZViewItem
Eric C Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 That's really a nice looking truck. I like the color choices and the wheels look great!
James W Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Very nice truck! 8) I like your take on the engine. By adding modern detailed parts to the kit block you get easy assembly and a good looking engine compartment when it's all done. That's what I like about plastic, a razer saw and a good file make anything glue together and you don't even have to buy a gasket set!

NICE TRUCKS HERE!!! they look better with paint on them
