Mike C Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 It's a 1/24 curbside. So there's a big opening in the back of the model. But it went together pretty well. Box art: Model: All that red on the body was supplied as decals, but it was easier to mask and paint it than put on large decals that were likely to split and not lay down well. Here's a couple masking shots: For the door "glass" they gave white decals, also NG, here they are painted: Here's the wheels painted up: Here's the dashboard:
1959scudetto Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 Well done, Michael - you've done a lot of masking here ! (I've built Hasegawa's Silk Cut Jaguar in 1990 which had all the purple parts supplied as decals (almost half of the body) - they went on very well and laid down smoothly even on the curves of the body without wrinkles or other issues - NO decal softener was used! But they were very thin)
Gramps46 Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 I like what you have done with the model and your build description. Thanks for sharing it with us.
iamsuperdan Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 Looks great! I think painting instead of decaling was definitely the right decision.
