customsrus Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) This is the car that sold at Barrett-Jackson auto auction for over $2 million dollars. So I thought it was worthy of making it in small scale. What do you think? Edited December 24, 2008 by customsrus
MyBradKeselowski Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 very nice build, I like it is it ready 4 Barrett? hehehehe
customsrus Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 Hey man, that is sweeetttt.. Resin kit? not resin built from revell's 54 corvette and 57 corvette.
walt francis Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 WOW !!!!!! You really pulled that off, I still have pics of the real one and yours really looks good.
MrObsessive Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Nice!! I love that conversion! Great job on the opening doors too!
Harry P. Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Very nice work! A model you definitely won't see every day! Does anyone else agree that an "Oldsmobile" based on a Corvette is a little... weird? "This isn't your father's Oldsmobile"...
RodneyBad Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 OldsVette. Very cool. I've never seen the 1:1 Version but I'm sure it looks as good as yours.. Awesome Conversion.
FordRodnKustom Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Very nice conversion. Great to see a build like this. Well done!
Dragon7665 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Amazing Job Customsrus! One of My Fav Showcars from the 50's Very nice work! A model you definitely won't see every day! Does anyone else agree that an "Oldsmobile" based on a Corvette is a little... weird? "This isn't your father's Oldsmobile"... You know I have always prefered the B.O.P. Roadster/Hardtop Vette-based Concepts of the '50's(Olds at the Top for me, Followed by Buick, Then Pontiac), and I think it would have made GM quite a bit of money, had they allowed one if not all of their marks have a lightweight Roadster like they had planned.... Honestly the B.O.P. Cars offered alot more Styling to the Roadster(I prefer the 50's-60's Vette's, even though I could never fit in a Factory one comfortably).....
Charlie Magers Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Very nice work. There are a few pictures of the Olds in the Gateway Auto Museum. http://public.fotki.com/CMagers/11_autos/g...ay-auto-museum/
John Goschke Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Very impressive and authentic piece of work!
george 53 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Never saw one of these rascals except in pics. It's nice to see a 3D version. I gotta admit, other than the rear bumper, I sure like the OVERALL look of it. Too bad GM din't have the foresight(as usual)to allow the other Div's. to try their hand at it.
RodBurNeR Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 February 2007 in Omaha. I knew I had seen a lot of your builds before, nice work!
Harry P. Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I just noticed how the trunk lid is cut out around the gas cap... pretty cool. Now add the turn signals! If you don't have anything appropriate in your parts box you can get little clear "lenses" like that in the jewelry supplies aisle at Hobby lobby.
Peter Lombardo Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Very impressive replica. Chevrolet was struggling with the Corvette sales back in those days, so to expect a competitor from a sister GM brand would have been unrealistic....but it is always nice to think about what could have been. Nice job, very faithfully to the original.
