beeRS Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Lovely job on this. Hard to believe it’s just clear over plastic! Aurora made some amazing kits for their time.

Aurora made some amazing kits for their time. Thank you Sonny - back then I did this with several kits: brushing clear enamel directly on the plastic body - but: the enamel coat has yellowed over the course of time which was no problem with red, dark red, dark blue or yellow bodies - white ones would turn into an ugly tan color.

Oldcarfan27 Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I've got one of those that I've been recently beating into submission trying to correct ALL of the inaccuracies in the body. I got it all fixed but then had a problem when I tried to redo the door hinges, so back in the box it went until I get inspired again. I like that yours survived all those decades intact - including the wheels and fragile door hinges. Still looks great! 1
