Try trying on your spare body the Zero primer and paint first. doing an excellent job on the build as well. You’ve captured some great details!! Yes Chris, you were correct. I realize now I was spraying my coats on too thick. After I stripped & sanded the body, I sprayed Zero Paints grey primer, then about 5-6 thin coasts of the Zero Paints Lime Green with positive results. Will do a very light sanding with 4000 to get rid of the dust particles then apply the decals. Let it dry over the weekend and then apply the 2K clear with thin coats. TCB, Adam 1
adamelvis Posted September 25, 2022 Author Posted September 25, 2022 Finally, base coat is finished. Purchased a new airbrush and was very happy with the results. Next steps is to finish the engine assembly and then apply those F&F decals and then the 2K Clear!!

Added the two buttons for the Nos 1 & Nos 2 shots !! How did you paint the raised lettering on the seats? I been racking my brain trying for do white letter tires. Tried everything up to a gel pen!! My hands not really steady. Thanks.

The “Sparco” lettering on the top of the seat is actually a decal. * FYI - Did you know you can also buy decals of different tire manufacturers? ie: Goodyear, Michelin, Toyo, etc. You need to sand off the raised lettering on the rubber tire, then apply the decal and finish off with a coat of matte or semi-gloss. Frankieboy Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I just ordered the decals. Thanks for the info!!! That’s a killer build man.

adamelvis Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 Here is the completed Mitsubishi 420A DOHC 2.0L 16V engine that was in Brian’s Hero car. To be accurate, I had to take parts from both the AMT and Revell kits and scratch build a new one. 3
beeRS Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 I’m loving the attention to detail here. Great build ?? 1

adamelvis Posted October 18, 2022 Author Posted October 18, 2022 Added my own carbon fiber decal from Scale Motorsport. This is a very popular choice and I recommend you should have some in your stock. Adam
adamelvis Posted December 12, 2022 Author Posted December 12, 2022 Polished and ready for final details. 3
Justin Porter Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Really impressive to see all the work going into correcting the small faults between both kits. 1

adamelvis Posted December 28, 2022 Author Posted December 28, 2022 The side mirrors were a bit too small and feeble, so I made a more durable replacement from plastic sprue, a used staple and some rubber hose (spark plug wire boots). Wrapped it in carbon fiber decal and used BMF for the mirror. Created a separate side mounting plate, which was painted semi-gloss black and drilled a small hole for the arm to be glued into. adamelvis Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 The wing in the Revell kit was a two tier wing molded into one piece with a solid piece for the mounting bracket. I took the best parts from the AMT kit and reconstructed the wing to a more accurate presentation. 2
adamelvis Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 Needed to add my signature roof liner. LOL. Every car that I have built lately has one installed. This is the black fabric from a broken set of head phones ! TCB, Adam 1
