A Thanksgiving Tradtion

The radio station I listened to growing up, WDVE in Pittsburgh always played Arlo Guthrie's - Alice's Restaurant on Thanksgiving.  In honor of that tradition I present:

WNEW New York always played it at noon on Thanksgiving.

Yesterday a guy on Facebook said he just didn’t get it.. I told him he was too young to understand!

WPDH in New York plays it every year too, I love it.

The spouse planned an East Coast fall color trip in 2016. One of the stops was Lenox, MA. Once I found out how close we were going to be, I requested a side trip to Stockbridge and Great Barrington (Arlo owns the church where Alice and Ray Brock lived). Great fun!

I just listened to this for the first time in my 50 years. My wife is from upstate New York (Hopewell Junction/Fishkill area) and she confirmed it was a thanksgiving tradition.
