bill-e-boy Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Re the AMT 69 Torino Cobra Jet fast back -does this kit have a fully detailed chassis or a simple promo style chassis with moulded in rear end etc If it does not have a full detail chassis what is a suitable donor kit
Snake45 Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Looks like the '66 and '69 wheelbases are the same, so the AMT '66 Fairlane or '67 Comet Cyclone chassis would work.
1972coronet Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 I'm pleasantly surprised to see separate exhaust -- too bad that AMT didn't go all out and have a separate axle-differential-springs setup ( yes , I realise that this kits dates to c.1968 ) .
bill-e-boy Posted November 24, 2021 Author Posted November 24, 2021 Thanks guys - good vid of kit - see what you get before buying
Rodent Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 I think this kit lost its molded-in exhaust when it became a modified stocker and they had to tool a new system when it was put back as a street car.
Plowboy Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 The '66 Fairlane is almost a drop in fit. Just needs a little trimming along the driveshaft tunnel.
