Jim B Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 Does anyone know of a good alternative for Testors Model Master Auto Lacquer 1969 Ford Metallic Acapulco Blue? Some other company must make Acapulco Blue. Thanks.
Jim B Posted November 28, 2021 Author Posted November 28, 2021 Thanks. I'll have to check those out. I don't need a lot as I only need to paint an International V800 engine in the AMT International Paystar5000. Apparently the Testors Model Master Auto Lacquer 1969 Ford Metallic Acapulco Blue is close to the color that International used to paint that engine.
Classicgas Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 I have a color close to that. I would be glad to paint it for you. Pm me if interested.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 (edited) My local hobby shop now carries many of the MCW enamels in the small jars. I'm guessing that there's a good possibility that MCW would carry it if you want to thin and airbrush enamel. Otherwise, I agree. MCW and Scale Finishes should both carry the ready to spray lacquer. Thanks for the offer, Lee. I appreciate it. A local modeler has a can of Nassau Blue which he is loaning to me. Should be close enough. I will have to look more closely into MCW & Scale Finishes if I ever get an airbrush. I have checked out their respective Websites, and they both carry a really good selection of paint.
Classicgas Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 MCW has or at least had some of their colors in spray can form.
