Tommy124 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 There's another way to how masking tape can be used in the interior. You can pre-paint a piece of masking tape in the desired color or wood pattern. Then cut it to size and apply it. Done! I used this technique on my 70 Bonneville interior:

I did that to make seat belts but never thought beyond that. ?. Nice Pontiac, Tommy.. Can't understand why they stopped making them.

This WIP sat for years in the box, because I was daunted by the multiple colors on the seats. If I recall correctly, there were 7 colors for the interior. I prefer regular masking tape, you can draw with a pencil on it. It cuts easily with a new #11 blade. When I work it down into the crevasse of the cushions, use a toothpick. Sometimes I use Scotch tape, if there are round shapes to go around. I so don't like brush painting! But I have to for touchup. Very nice work! The masking job could've been more difficult, though... 1

[...] Meh, paint the white and use a decal, but none exist for that pattern. Looks like a Porsche 928. I know this isn't a good example for the topic, but the decal does add another "color".
rightrudder Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 It's what Porsche called Pasha...used on various models including both 911 and 928 at certain times. I think it's cool because it's kinda "checkerboard on acid." 1 1
iBorg Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I'm impressed by the builds in this thread. Truly inspirational.
